Govt mulls cutting crime compensation
The Government is considering plans to cut compensation paid to people injured by criminals. Ministers want to cut by a quarter the £200m awarded annually by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme, despite strong criticism from trade unions and several Tory MPs.
