NHS Savile inquiry chief named
Former barrister Kate Lampard is to head up a number of investigations into abuse by Jimmy Savile on NHS premises, it has been announced.
Ms Lampard, who sits of the board of NHS South of England, will oversee hospital investigations already Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Broadmoor and inside the Department of Health.
She has been appointed to the role by the Department of Health.
A Downing Street spokesman said she would "ensure rigour and consistency" in the various probes.
