IPSA to review renting
The parliamentary watchdog has saidit will look into MPs renting flats to each other as part of a public consultation next month.
The Times reported this morning that four MPs are renting properties to colleagues.
A statemetn from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority said:
"The next public consultation on the rules will launch in November 2012. As part of this we will consider the issue of MPs renting from other MPs."
The Daily Telegraph also revealed that 27 MPs were letting out property they have in London while claiming expenses to rent homes.
Those named include Andy Burnham, Chris Bryant, David Amess, Dr Liam Fox, Peter Luff and Sir Nicholas Harvey.
Ipsa insisted it was not its job to get involved in MPs' personal finances saying in a statement that renting "is an issue of their own private financial affairs over which we rightly have no authority".
