Generals' £227m hotel spend
Ministry of Defence officals and generals cost the Government £227m in hotel and hospitality costs last year, despite cutbacks in army staff. The Sun on Sunday reports that some staff were staying in hotels costing £600 a night in what was branded "profligate waste" by Colonel Richard Kemp, the former commander of British forces in Afghanistan.
