Clegg to pledge support for business
Nick Clegg is to pledge his support for British firms in a speech to businesses tonight.
"From now on, I intend to be much more open about our efforts to support British business," he will say at CityUK's annual dinner. "I want you to be confident that my party is on business’ side." Mr Clegg is also set to back David Cameron's plan to squeeze European Union spending, according to The Times.
The Deputy Prime Minister is expected to tell Herman van Rompuy, president of the European Commission, that the EU should freeze its budget for the next seven years in real terms when they meet tomorrow.
