Gove attacked for failure on children
Michael Gove missed his opportunity to legislate to protect children, one of his ex-ministers has said. Former Children's minister Tim Loughton said he had been trying to push reforms through, but added: “frustratingly I failed to persuade Mr Gove to include improvements in legislation when I was at the Education Department". Writing in The Sun, he calls on all institutions that deal with children to “look inside themselves” to ensure recent high profile abuse scandals are “one offs".
