The chief executive of Ucas has said making A-Levels harder could lead to fewer pupils taking them. Mary Curnock Cook said it could also lead to the creation of a two-tier system based on which subjects students take. She argued that the reforms to A-Level Maths could "depress participation" and "depress achievement".
