Millions 'lack online skills'
The UK is not doing enough to improve IT skills, the Government's 'digital champion' Martha Lane Fox has warned, after a new report found as many as 16m people across the country lack basic online competence. The report, commissioned by the Go ON UK charity, also estimates that only one third of small and medium-sized business have a digital presence, missing out on the potential for billions of pounds in revenue. "We’ve got to make sure that not only all of our individuals but all of our organisations and certainly our charitable sector have the skills to cope," Ms Fox told the Today programme.
