HMRC wants speed limit exemption
HMRC has applied for an exemption to the Road Traffic Act for certain officers in fulfilling their duties. The ability to break road laws, such as speed limits and red lights, is a benefit currently enjoyed only by the emergency services, but road safety minister Stephen Hammond has launched a three month consultation into the possibility of extending it to include certain members of the HMRC.
