Met considers crime 'access points'
Scotland Yard is proposing to create “access points” for the public to report crime in public places, such as coffee shops and religious buildings, while closing front counter services in police stations. The proposal, to be considered by Boris Johnson next month, has been criticised by Labour MP David Lammy. He told The Times that reporting crimes was a “serious public service that requires serious public premises”.
