Online transactions topped 7 million for the first time on a single day last week, new figures show. 'Mega Monday' on December 3 saw shoppers spend $365m on Visa cards alone, according to Visa Europe's Weekly Spending Tracker. Total spending surged ahead of Christmas, up 2.5% year-on-year for the week of 3 to 9 December.
