Scientists must take the lead in the debate over the UK’s energy policy to avoid the issue being mired in party politics, experts have warned. A report by the UK Energy Research Council today warns the “politicisation” of the energy debate is leading to public disengagement and scepticism, and calls for a more effective approach from the scientific community.
