Govt urged to cancel probation contracts
The Government is being urged to cancel contracts with two private firms running probation facilities. For the fourth year in a row, probation union Napo has produced a dossier of complaints against the two firms, citing examples of staff travelling nearly 200 miles to clean windows and 110 miles to change light bulbs. Napo suggests work could be 20-30% cheaper if sourced locally.
