Cameron 'snubbed' Obama on Afghan exit
David Cameron's announcement of British troop drawdown from Afghanistan was made in defiance of President Obama, the Sunday Times reports.
The paper suggests the President wanted a joint Nato reveal of withdrawal plans next month, and says he urged Mr Cameron to wait in a video conference last week.
“Everyone will assume it was done with American approval and thus give the green light to all,” one White House official explains. “The problem is if countries like Denmark and Estonia with just a few hundred troops announce they are halving, they might as well pack up and go.”
