Alistair Darling 'to quit'
Former Chancellor Alistair Darling is planning to quit at the next election, according to the Sun.
A senior Labour source told the paper that the Edinburgh South West MP "may have already made his mind up".
However, friends of Mr Darling have this morning insisted no decision has been made.
"At some point in the next few months, all MPs will be asked by the party if they want to stand again. Alistair has not made any decision at the moment. This sounds like a Christmas party story," a source told the Scotsman.
