Hunt backs Liverpool Care Pathway
Jeremy Hunt has warned not to let "one or two" mistakes undermine the use of the controversial Liverpool Care Pathway for ending seriously ill patients' lives. The Daily Mail reports that 60,000 patients a year die on the Pathway without giving their consent. Ahead of a Department of Health review of the Pathway, the Health Secretary yesterday insisted the LCP was a "fantastic step forward" which helped patients "die in a dignified way".
