Ed Miliband wins

Ed Miliband wins
Ed Miliband has won the Labour leadership by 1.3% after a close competition with his brother David. Speaking after Ed's win, David Miliband said "this is Ed's day" and his younger brother said "my relationship with David is excellent and it will remain excellent". The new Labour leader stressed he would "unify" the party and said that "today a new generation has taken charge of Labour". His appointment has already been criticised by Conservative Party Chairman Baroness Warsi, who said it seemed like a “great leap backwards” for the Labour party and “Ed Miliband owes his position to the votes of the unions”.
