Events in Bristol and Chester raise more than 30,000

Airbus in the UK hosted its round of annual charity dinners at Broughton and Filton this month, and more than £30,000 has been raised for the official Airbus Charity Partner, Hospice UK.

Airbus staff, as well as representatives from suppliers and partner organisations attended the dinners in Chester and Bristol, and dug deep in the charity auctions held on during the events to bid for some amazing prizes including holidays to Tuscany and an opportunity to meet Formula One legend David Coulthard.

Seven hospices near the Airbus facilities at Filton and Broughton will benefit from the funds raised during the two-year partnership with Hospice UK, which has been in place since January 2015.

Phil McGraa, UK Charity Campaign Manager for Airbus said: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone attending these events. I know that the money raised will make a huge difference to the work of Hospice UK and all of our local hospices.”

Tracey Bleakley, Chief Executive of Hospice UK said “The enthusiasm that staff and friends of Airbus have shown for supporting Hospice UK and hospice care locally has been amazing and was abundantly clear on these wonderful evenings. The money raised will help Hospice UK continue to champion better end of life care across the country, as well as supporting families closer to the Filton and Broughton sites.”

The Bristol event was held at Ashton Gate and raised £12,500 while the Chester event took place in the Crowne Plaza in the City Centre and raised over £19,000
