Residents warned to be vigilant

There is information circulating via Facebook and more widely, that the 'bedroom tax' has been scrapped. Residents have been asked to send off personal details for a full refund of the difference since the change was implemented.

This is a scam. No changes are being made to the spare room subsidy – the changes implemented since April 2013 remain the same. More information on the spare room subsidy is available here.

Moat residents are advised not to send personal details without verifying the source of the request.
