The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is looking forward to Members’ Day 2021 – a virtual event for GGF Members that consists of nine webinar presentations and panel discussions plus two open forums.

With 14 speakers including keynote speakers from the fields of politics, technical and training, it promises to be a great event for Members.

Lord Andrew Stunell, President of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC), will be the keynote speaker as he outlines the changes, challenges and opportunities ahead for construction and Government energy efficiency polices. Lord Stunell has a very strong active background in construction, practicing as an architect before entering politics.

As an MP, he was successful in having his Sustainable and Secure Buildings Bill becoming an Act of Parliament in 2004 in his campaign for greener and safer buildings.

In 2010, he was part of the coalition government operating in the Department of Local Government and Communities (now MHCLG). With his background, knowledge and views, Lord Stunell promises to be an engaging guest speaker at Members’ Day.

In addition, GK Strategy the political advisory company will present on a new GGF project titled “Glazing – The Route to Net Zero”.

The afternoon session will cover technical presentations featuring guest Mark Oliver, from the GGF’s Primary Authority Partnership.

Ian Smith of the Department of Work and Pensions will present on the Kickstart scheme and the drive to get young people into the industry.

On the annual event, John Agnew, GGF Group Managing Director commented, “This year’s Members’ Day promises to be a highly informative event and GGF Members’ can expect a few surprises with some exciting announcements on new projects that will undoubtedly benefit our Membership. We are looking forward to another memorable Members’ Day.”

Tony Smith, GGF President added, “With so much being covered, it promises to be an interesting and engaging event.”

The full event details, timings and an online booking form are available on the GGF website or by contacting the GGF Marketing Department via email marketing@ggf.org.uk
