'Huge gulf' emerges in customer service standards as SSE Energy Services tops supplier league table

SSE

Responding to the news that SSE is leading the Citizens Advice Energy Supplier League Table for the first quarter, Tony Keeling, Managing Director of SSE Energy Services, said:

“The league table shows the huge gulf in service on offer from energy suppliers and that standards in some cases are falling well short of what customers should expect. We work hard to look after our customers and, having outperformed all 40 other suppliers, we’ve shown that – if you want more than just a cheap price – smaller doesn’t always mean better when it comes to choosing your energy supplier.”

  • SSE came first out of 41 gas and electricity suppliers for customer service results in the first quarter of 2019.
  • This authoritative league table is compiled by Citizens Advice who ranks companies on a range of metrics including call waiting times, the timeliness and accuracy of bills and switching.
  • SSE scored 4.6 out of 5.  The lowest scoring supplier received 1.65 out of 5.
  • SSE Energy Services is the retail business of SSE plc, one of the UK’s leading energy companies. SSE Energy Services supplies energy to over 5.7 million customers throughout Great Britain.
