We note in his 2016 CPS report The Free Ports Opportunity he wrote: “The only way to fund world-class public services and outstanding infrastructure is to encourage the millions of British businesses that create the wealth of the nation – especially small businesses, family firms and the self-employed.” IPSE strongly agrees with this statement and would urge the new Chancellor to show his intent by immediately announcing a halt to the introduction of the new rules on IR35 in the private sector and having a fundamental review of small business taxation – to ensure it can create the wealth that Mr Sunak is talking about.
