Mersin Integrated Health Campus reaches financial close, Turkey
The Mersin Integrated Health Campus public-private partnership project in Turkey has successfully reached financial close.
Mott MacDonald was lenders’ technical advisor during the project’s financing and will now monitor construction and operations in an ongoing role.
The 1,259-bed, 355,420 sq m campus will comprise a general hospital and dedicated facilities for obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiovascular diseases, psychiatry and oncology. It is expected to serve approximately 10,000 patients per day, including emergencies.
Mott MacDonald provided technical and environmental due diligence to the project’s lenders, including a review of potential issues and commercial implications arising from the project agreement and schedules. The consultancy also reviewed the stakeholders’ competence, track record and capabilities, as well as the design solution, construction planning, capital and operating expenditure and lifecycle costing.

These campuses will increase capacity and offer first-class facilities and equipment integrated on one site, providing significant benefits to the Turkish population. Facilities management and selected clinical support services will be undertaken by the private sector and managed by the project company and its partners.”
Construction of the Mersin Integrated Health Campus is expected to be completed by the end of 2016, which will be followed by a 25-year concession period with the Turkish Ministry of Health.
