Plans for a spaceport, but still no runway decision

London First

1 min read Partner content

With no commitment in today's Queen's Speech to make a final decision on the location of a new runway in London and the South East, Let Britain Fly made the following statement:

“The business community will be surprised that the Queen’s speech included a commitment to build a new spaceport, but there was no commitment to make a final decision on the location of a new runway for more conventional aircraft. Such a decision is needed not only to support our world-leading aerospace and aviation sector, but is vital for the country’s long-term prosperity. We urge the government to make a final decision by the summer recess.”
