CIWM has joined a long list of signatories in a letter to Environment Secretary Michael Gove on the current raft of consultations on reformed packaging producer responsibility, a Deposit Return Scheme, Collection Consistency and the Plastics Packaging Tax.

The letter signals the level of engagement on the proposals being put forward across the whole packaging value chain, including designers, brands, manufacturers, retailers, councils, recyclers, and resource and waste management companies. It signals a clear shared ambition for the UK to be a world leader in the sustainable use of resources and offers a series of high-level recommendations on shaping the delivery of the best evidence-led outcomes as the proposals are taken forward.

The full letter can be read here.
