Steve Lee confirmed as Director General of Resources & Waste UK

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA) have today announced that Steve Lee, who will be stepping down as Chief Executive of CIWM at the end of October 2016, will continue in his role leading Resources & Waste UK (R&WUK), the joint policy and influencing
Both organisations recognise that the political, economic and technical environment in which this industry operates, together with new pressures and responsibilities arising from the decision for the UK to leave the EU, make the need for a co-ordinated voice for the industry more important than ever. As Director General of R&WUK, Steve will be working closely with senior managers, Board Members and Trustees of both organisations, including the new CIWM CEO Dr Colin Church, to champion the needs and priorities of the sector and ensure its continued success.
Professor Jim Baird, President of CIWM and R&WUK Board member, said:
