David Davis handed sick bucket as he braves food poisoning for Marr interview

John Ashmore

1 min read

David Davis had to be provided with a sick bucket this morning as he braved food poisoning to give a major TV interview on Brexit.

The Brexit Secretary was reportedly sick both before and after his appearance on the Andrew Marr Show this morning and a bucket and tissues were visible at his side during the interview.

Host Andrew Marr noted that his guest had "struggled here despite feeling most unwell this morning".

Before kicking off the veteran Tory MP joked to his host "if the camera suddenly switches to you, the audience will know what's happened!".

A source told PoliticsHome that Mr Davis had come down with food poisoning yesterday but decided it would be "bad form" to pull out of the interview at short notice.
