Parliament's Magazine

Founded in 1976, The House holds a special place in Westminster as Parliament’s magazine.
Written by award-winning journalists, policy experts and parliamentarians, and overseen by a
cross-party advisory board of MPs and peers, it is closer than any other print publication to the most powerful people in British politics.

Our readers come for the inside track from Cabinet politicians and backbenchers on the
leading policy debates of the day along with analysis from political experts, exclusive invitations to Parliamentary events, limited edition departmental guides, and much more.

The magazine is published bi-weekly when Parliament is in session.

Francis Elliott

Editor

Francis Elliott became Editor of The House magazine in 2023. He first entered the Lobby in 1998, and worked at Scotland on Sunday, Sunday Telegraph, Independent on Sunday (political journalist of the year 2006) before joining The Times in 2007, where he wrote for 13 years, latterly as the newspaper’s Political Editor.

Sienna Rodgers

Deputy Editor

Sienna Rodgers is Deputy Editor of The House magazine. She has been a member of the Lobby for six years and was previously editor of Labourlist. She appears regularly on TV and radio including BBC Newsnight, Radio 4 and Times Radio.

Sophie Church

Reporter

Sophie Church is a reporter at The House magazine, joining in 2022. She previously freelanced for the likes of the Independent, Evening Standard, Metro and The I. Before moving into journalism, Sophie worked in market research, conducting reputational analyses for governments and corporate clients. Sophie graduated from the University of York with a degree in English Literature.

Sally Dawson

Books and Culture Editor

Sally Dawson has been the books and culture editor at The House magazine for the past four and half years, prior to this she was the magazine’s commissioning and special projects editor, and was also the editor of The Parliamentary Monitor magazine. A mother of two, she has a degree in journalism and psychology from City University.

Harriet Symonds

Commissioning Editor

Harriet Symonds has been Commissioning Editor for The House, Parliament’s in-house magazine, for four years. She has interviewed a range of politicians from across the political spectrum and writes political features and analysis, in particular on Reform, the United States and Donald Trump. She also commissions agenda setting opinion pieces from MPs, peers and political commentators on the biggest issues of the day.

Tali Fraser

Features Writer

Formerly of The Spectator and Mail on Sunday, Tali Fraser is Features Writer for The House. Her background is in interviewing politicians and profile/feature writing. She was shortlisted for the PPA “Writer of the Year” Award in 2023.

Alan White

Editor in Chief

Alan White is Editor in Chief of The House and PoliticsHome. He previously spent seven years as a senior reporter and then news editor for Buzzfeed UK, winning the RTS Scoop of the Year award in 2016. He is the author of Who Really Runs Britain, a study of the UK’s outsourcing industry.
