EBLEX adds to ranks of assurance scheme team

The EBLEX Quality Standard Mark (QSM) scheme has boosted its team with the appointment of Deanna Girgan.
Deanna, who has 20 years of experience in the food industry, has joined the QSM team as Quality Schemes executive and will work with members to ensure they are fully benefiting from the programme.
The QSM scheme for beef and lamb provides one of the highest levels of independently-inspected quality assurance for meat in the UK. It celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and currently has more than 2,600 members.
QSM’s standards contain combined guarantees of food safety, animal welfare, care for the environment and eating quality. Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth also recently championed the importance of the scheme in a video.
