The Go-Ahead Group owned firm, Go South Coast - which operates a number of south coast bus and coach companies – has taken control of Thamesdown Transport from Swindon Borough Council.

Thamesdown services operate across Swindon and north Wiltshire with a fleet of 85 buses.

Andrew Wickham, Go South Coast Managing Director, said: “We are excited to be providing vital sustainable transport in this region. It’s business as usual as far as customers are concerned. Any tickets or passes they have will still be valid and buses will serve existing routes with no change to timings.”

The company’s aim is to enhance the service and will do so by consulting local people, customers and stakeholders.
