Quality Standard Mark (QSM) beef and lamb will next month take centre stage in front of a global audience at the foremost industry event of 2015.

The AHDB Beef Lamb 250sq m pavilion will showcase home-produced meat products to visitors at Anuga 2015 – the world’s leading food fair for the retail and foodservice market – from October 10 to 14 in Cologne, Germany.

Anuga 2015 will feature 6,800 exhibitors, including 850 meat sector firms on a huge exhibition space and around 155,000 delegates from 200 countries are expected to visit.

During the event, AHDB Beef Lamb experts will be available to provide delegates with a raft of information on QSM beef and lamb, including production systems and how best to cook with specific cuts. New cuts development work will also be highlighted using innovative butchery techniques and visitors will also be given the opportunity to sample some of the produce.

New developments in the field of premium meats, such as beef loins matured on the bone, are due to feature, while premium retail presentations for lamb, including skin packing will also be presented. The stand will also feature pork this year, highlighting products for export to Europe and Asia. Exporters can also use areas on the stand to conduct business meetings.

Susana Morris, AHDB Beef Lamb export manager, said: “Anuga provides us with the ideal platform to highlight some of the innovative work we are doing in product development, as well as supporting our exports. It will again help us build on our strong reputation for delivering beef and lamb products of the highest quality and versatility to the global retail and foodservice sectors.”

In addition, the 24th official British Meat Dinner – supported by AHDB Beef Lamb and AHDB Pork – will take place on October 12 to coincide with the event, providing guests from the meat and food industry with the opportunity to sample beef, lamb and pork dishes, as well as network.

The AHDB Beef Lamb pavilion can be found at Anuga in Hall 6.1, Aisle C no. 040g and Aisle D no. 041g.
