IPSE have responded to proposals for a new US-style agency to kick-start small businesses.
Access to finance has always been a big challenge for small businesses, including for our smallest businesses – the UK’s 4.8 million self-employed.
IPSE welcomes this positive idea from Labour for a Small Business Administration, which would aim to kickstart small businesses while recognising their importance as wealth creators and job generators, and look forward to further details about this proposal.
It is important to keep in mind that the self-employed often see growth differently from other small businesses. IPSE research suggests they are more interested in becoming experts in their field, rather than building a business empire.
