Jersey and Britain: A valuable partnership
Ahead of a Parliamentary roundtable, Jersey Finance and Capital Economics have analysed the financial benefits of links between Jersey and Britain.
In partnership with Capital Economics, Jersey Finance commissioned reports to look at the economic, financial and fiscal linkages between Jersey and Britain, as well as Jersey and the European Union.
The reports confirmed that we provide vital liquidity to the British and European economies, facilitate inward investment from around the world and support a significant number of jobs in both markets.
Jersey Finance is delighted to be hosting a Parliamentary roundtable and lunchtime seminar in London on Wednesday 19 October to discuss the key findings of both reports. The Parliamentary Roundtable, entitled ‘Jersey: A Valuable Partnership’, will launch the reports and promises to be an engaging discussion between Jersey Finance, Parliamentarians and financial professionals. An evening reception will follow to provide the opportunity for further informal discussion and networking with senior industry and political figures.
The ‘Value to Britain’ report builds on research which we have undertaken previously and shows a strengthening of our relationship with Britain as well as evidencing how Jersey is a catalyst for significant economic activity in the United Kingdom. The ‘Value to Europe’ report highlights the positive contribution that Jersey makes to the EU, particularly in terms of facilitating foreign investment. These findings underline the important role Jersey plays in the global economy and serves to deepen relations between our financial services and their European counterparts.
Jersey Finance is a not-for-profit organisation, formed in 2001, to represent and promote Jersey as an international financial centre of excellence.
