New Apprenticeship Delivery Board must have 'strong relationship with Government' - CIOB
The Chartered Institute of Building responds to the Prime Minister's announcement of a newApprenticeship Delivery Board.
Eddie Tuttle, Principal Policy Public Affairs Manager said: “The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) welcome the announcement of a new Apprenticeship Delivery Board to support the Government’s ambition to meet 3 million new apprenticeship starts by 2020.
“We are delighted that construction has been given a voice on the Board with the appointment of James Wates CBE, a Past President of CIOB. The construction industry is one of the most rewarding for apprentice progression, but as an industry regularly struggles to compete against other sectors due to inherent image problems.
“The Board also needs to have a strong relationship with Government, ensuring that clear and consistent messages are delivered to industry about how the Apprenticeship Levy and the CITB Levy will work for the close to 300,000 businesses working across the sector.”
