No excuse for not recognising holes in care system

In response to the report ‘Social Care for Older People: Home Truths’ by The King’s Fund and Nuffield Trust, Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age, said:

“This report, by two of the most respected institutes in health and social care, clearly shows that there are huge holes in what is supposed to be a safety net for elderly and disabled people who need care and support. Theresa May’s new cabinet surely now has no excuse for failing to understand the scale of the problem. The first step must be a frank recognition of the dire state of the care system and immediate additional funding while a longer term solution can be debated and agreed.”
