Surge in patients facing long wait in ambulances signals need for cross-party commission

Responding to figures showing increased ambulance waits for patients, Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age, the older people's charity, said:


"As an older people's charity, we see the impact of an under pressure and under funded health and care system every day. These figures are yet more evidence that the current situation is unsustainable, but Westminster politics has as yet failed to provide sufficient answers. That's why we and many other charities strongly backs calls for an independent cross-party commission to examine the future NHS and social care."
