Turn2us responds to 78 JobCentre closures
Adam Lake of poverty charity Turn2us, responds to outrage over DWP's announced closures of 78 job centres.
“We find that many of those struggling get into difficulties through the lack of information, which is why it is concerning that a major source of support is being scaled down in a number of hard to reach areas. The best way for people to get back into work is for them to be able to spend more of their time and energy looking for it. There is a real risk here that the added travel burden will make it harder for people to find work, as well as seek advice regarding the support that they are entitled to whilst out of work.
