Mobile UK

Last year alone, mobile network operators successfully blocked over one billion scam messages, safeguarding their customers from potential harm. This significant achievement is a testament to the industry's ongoing commitment to protecting consumers.

To combat the ever-evolving threat of fraud, mobile operators have invested millions in advanced technologies to identify and block scam and spam calls and texts on a daily basis. They are also actively collaborating with regulatory bodies like Ofcom and the UK Government to strengthen consumer protection measures.

Mobile UK's latest infographic highlights the various initiatives and products introduced by EE, Three, Virgin Media O2, and Vodafone to ensure the safety and security of their customers.

Our Director of Policy and Communications Gareth Elliott said:

“Ensuring customer safety and preventing fraud is a core priority for all mobile operators. The industry is investing millions into counter-fraud measures. Since last year alone, over one billion scam messages have been blocked by our mobile operators. Whilst an impressive figure, this statistic indicates the sheer size and scope of the mobile fraud epidemic in the UK."
