Airbus is all heart when it comes to the local community

Wingmakers help carnival fly.
Children from the Broughton Primary School helped decorate this year's Airbus float for the Broughton and Bretton Carnival, showering the trailer with multi-coloured heart designs to recognise Airbus' position at the heart of the community.
Unseasonably blustery and showery weather didn't dampen the spirits of the carnival-goers as hundreds turned out to join the festivities on Saturday (10th June). Airbus was once again proud to provide a float in the parade and hosted a carnival stand which celebrated all things Beluga - Airbus' iconic wing transporter often seen flying over the skies above Broughton.
"Airbus has supported us in two ways," explains local councillor and Chair for the Broughton Community Center, Sue Stevens.
"Firstly, making a float for the carnival parade, with the added help of Broughton Primary School, and secondly by involving their apprentice community who volunteered their time to help with the float procession, marshal at the field and do anything else that was asked of them. Community spirit at its best!"
Community Relations Manager at Airbus Broughton, Phil McGraa, said: "It was great to work with Broughton Primary School and Broughton Community Centre again this year and many of the kids who shared their hearts for the float were out on Saturday to see it during the parade."
