Damian Green piles pressure on Government to publish Brexit impact analysis

Disgraced top Tory Damian Green has urged David Davis to publish evidence about the expected impact of Brexit on the UK.
In an astonishing intervention the former right hand man to the Prime Minister blasted colleagues who he said “won’t accept evidence”.
In his first interview since being sacked as First Secretary of State over a porn scandal, Mr Green took aim at the Brexit secretary who is yet to publish a set of damning impact assessments.
“There’s a great problem of politicians who won’t accept evidence,” he told the BBC in an interview for its Ministry of Leave show on Radio 4 tonight.
"We can all argue about economic forecasts and none of them are 100% accurate but you have to rely on them and if you reject evidence you don’t like then you will end up with faith-based policies.”
He added: “If analysis is being produced then publish it.”
A Cabinet report leaked to BuzzFeed last month said UK growth would be stunted over the next 15 years by every assessed Brexit scenario.
After initially resisting calls to make the document public, the Government was forced to say it would publish the full report.
Elsewhere, Mr Green also lashed out at pro-Brexit Tory colleagues who have accused civil servants in the Treasury of trying to keep the UK in the single market and customs union.
“I do reject all the conspiracy theories that suggest there’s some sort of plot inside the official machine to thwart the will of the people,” he said.
Mr Green was dumped from the Cabinet in December after he breached the ministerial code by making false statements about a mammoth porn stash found on his work laptop in 2008.
A Cabinet Office probe also said allegations he made inappropriate sexual advances towards a female journalist were "plausible".
