Donald Trump 'set to snub Jeremy Corbyn' on UK visit

US President Donald Trump is set to snub Jeremy Corbyn during his visit to the UK later this year, it has emerged.
Mr Trump - who is set to visit on the 13th July - will meet the Queen and later go to Theresa May's Chequers residence, senior Whitehall sources told the Telegraph.
But unlike his predecessor Barack Obama - who met Labour Leader Ed Miliband in 2011 - Trump will reportedly not be meeting the Leader of the Opposition due to a tight schedule over a day-long trip.
Mr Corbyn had previously indicated a desire to speak to Trump, and discuss his “problems with Mexicans and Muslims" whenever the US President planned to visit the UK.
Mr Trump's visit will follow a two-day Nato summit in Brussels, and is seen as an opportunity to improve relations between the US President and Mrs May. It follows Emmanuel Macron’s visit to France this month, where Trump heralded a “new special relationship”.
In response to widespread expectations of protests of Trump’s visits to the UK, the US ambassador to the UK Woody Johnson said: “[Trump] is very thick-skinned. He knows what he wants to do and he speaks in a very clear and unusual way from most politicians...
"Most politicians don’t lay it out the way that he does so he is going to get a lot of criticism for that as people interpret where he is taking everything...But I think in the end people are starting to even now realise that where he is going is a good direction."
With over 30,000 people expected to attend protest, Sadiq Khan is reportedly set to demand the Home Office meet the cost of policing the demonstrations, according to The Telegraph.
