Downing Street rejects Danny Dyer Brexit criticism but defends his right to attack David Cameron

Downing Street has rejected claims by Danny Dyer that Brexit is a "mad riddle so no one knows what it is".
However, a spokesman for Theresa May did defend the Eastenders actor's right to call David Cameron a "t**t".
Mr Dyer hit out at the Government's Brexit strategy during an appearance on ITV talk show Good Evening Britain.
He said: "Who knows about Brexit? No one’s got a clue what Brexit is, yeah? You watch Question Time - it’s comedy.
"No one knows what it is, it’s like this mad riddle so no one knows what it is."
Taking aim at the former Prime Minister who called the EU referendum and, having lost it, left Downing Street and then frontline politics altogether, he said: "So what’s happened to that t**t David Cameron? How can he scuttle off? He called all this on. Where is he? He’s in Europe - in Nice - with his trotters up. Where is the geezer? I think he should be held account for it. T**t."
Responding to his criticisms, Mrs May's spokeswoman said: "We have always been clear that Brexit is a challenging process but we've made good progress on it. We will be publishing a white paper next month which will set out more clearly to the public what our future plans are and what we are seeking to achieve."
On Mr Dyer's comments about the Prime Minister's immediate predecessor, she said: "Much like columnists and others, people who appear on broadcast or newspapers are perfectly entitled to their opinion."
A spokesman for Mr Cameron said they would not be commenting on Mr Dyer's remarks.
