'Dull Dull Dull' - Former Tory minister's damning verdict on Theresa May's government

A former Conservative frontbencher has described Theresa May's government as "dull dull dull" in the latest attack by a senior party figure on her leadership.
Nicholas Soames warned that the Tories are on course to lose the next election unless the Prime Minister puts forward a more positive agenda.
His comments came after another former minister, Nick Boles, accused Mrs May of "timidity" and a "lack of ambition".
Mr Soames, who was a minister in John Major's government and served in Michael Howard's Shadow Cabinet, made clear his frustration on Twitter.
He said: "It really won’t be enough to get people to vote against The Corbini they must have really sound reasons to vote Conservative. We really need to get on with this #wherestheboldandbravesofaritsdulldulldull."
But a spokesman for the Prime Minister hit back at the criticism from Mr Soames and Mr Boles, insisting the Government had a record to be proud of.
He said: "If you look at action that's been taken by the Government in recent months, you can see that it is getting on with the job of building a stronger economy and a fairer society that works for everyone.
"There was a cut to stamp duty for 80% of buyers, the launch of the first ever 25-year environment plan, the launch of an ambitious industrial strategy to help businesses deliver better, high-paid jobs, we've announced detailed plans for an energy price cap, published the first ever race disparity audit, providing extra money for our public services in the form of £2.8bn more for the NHS, £2bn more for social care and £1.3bn more for schools.
"Of course we know there is more to do and the Prime Minister is committed to getting on and delivering."
