GMB welcomes HC-One £300 million BUPA care home buy out

We hope this acquisition with be a positive step for both residents and staff.


GMB, the union for care home staff, has welcomed news of a £300 million Bupa care home buy out by HC-One.

The company has purchased 122 facilities, which house around 9,000 residents and employ 10,000 staff.

GMB will now meet with HC-One to discuss details of the acquisition.

Sharon Wilde, GMB National Officer, said:

"GMB welcomes the news HC-One are acquiring 122 BUPA care homes.

“We have always had a good working relationship with the company and look forward to working with them further.

“We hope this acquisition will be a positive step for both residents and staff.

“GMB is scheduling a meeting with HC-One to discuss details.”
