Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee of Conservative backbenchers, has been appointed the new editor of The House magazine.
Mr Brady takes over at the helm of Parliament’s in-house publication from Gisela Stuart, who stood down from the Commons at the general election.
He said in a statement: "The House magazine gives a unique insight into what goes on in Parliament.
“In these complex and fast moving times, I am delighted to have a role in helping to maintain the magazine's special position for legislators and those who follow what we do.”
Mr Brady has been MP for Altrincham and Sale West since 1997 and was re-elected last week with a majority of 6,400.
He has chaired the 1922 Committee since 2010, and previously served as shadow Europe minister before resigning from the front bench in 2007.
