MPs join forces to condemn activist who told Rees-Mogg kids: 'Your daddy is horrible'

MPs from across the political divide have flocked to support Jacob Rees-Mogg after the top Tory and his children were harangued by an angry protester.
Left-wing activist Ian Bone cornered the pro-Brexit MP and his family yesterday and told his kids: “Your daddy is a totally horrible person.”
The Class War activist, who wrote a book published in 2006 titled ‘Bash the Rich’, added: "Poor Nanny Crook who looks after you and wipes your bottom, she doesn't get enough money every week - daddy doesn't care."
But colleagues from across the Commons branded his actions “sick,” “heartless” and “disgraceful”.
Deputy Labour leader Tom Watson said the attack was “utterly appalling,” adding: “It is completely unacceptable conduct to frighten and intimidate children and families.”
Lib Dem deputy leader Jo Swinson said: “What is wrong with people? It's not hard to disagree with someone without dragging their children into it.”
And Home Secretary Sajid Javid simply said: “Absolutely disgraceful.”
Other prominent MPs took to Twitter to condemn the incident, which police had to attend and which Mr Rees-Mogg played down.
“It was a small protest by anarchists which not surprisingly was disorganised, unpunctual and short lived,” the East Somerset MP told the Sun.
And he added to PoliticsHome: "People have been very kind about the protest but I don’t want to exaggerate its seriousness."
A spokesman for the Prime Minister said Mr Bone's actions were "completely unacceptable".
He added: "No elected member or their family should be subjected to intimidation or abuse in that way."
It is not the first time Mr Rees-Mogg has been targeted by protesters. Last month vandals targeted his wife’s car, while he was branded a “Nazi” and a “racist” during a university visit in February.
