The National Railway Museum and the Railway Industry Association (RIA) have launched ‘the Great Railway Quiz’, a virtual evening of railway questions, with quiz master Sir Peter Hendy CBE, Chairman of Network Rail.

The Great Railway Quiz will take place from 5.30pm on Thursday 25 June 2020 and will include five rounds of questions, covering the railways from past to present. The quiz is free to attend and open to all.

Attendees can sign up to take part here

Darren Caplan, Chief Executive of the Railway Industry Association, said: We’re all really looking forward to ‘the Great Railway Quiz’! The past few months have clearly been challenging for the rail industry, so we hope this event offers some fun for all those working in the railway industry and who have been keeping our railway running. It’s great to have Sir Peter on board as the Quiz Master too, a role I’m sure he’ll revel in – it will certainly make for a fantastic evening! So do join us and get your teams involved.”.

Judith McNicol, Director of the National Railway Museum, said: “I’m lucky enough to experience first-hand the extraordinary knowledge and love for the railways shown by our colleagues, our army of volunteers and our visitors. We’re busy making plans for reopening our doors at York and Shildon, but until then, I’m really looking forward to the Great Railway Quiz because it gives people the chance to show off that knowledge and passion! I’m sure it will be a lot of fun, and no doubt very competitive.”
