Ukip chairman 'not worried' by prospect of Premier League legal action over new logo

Ukip chairman Paul Oakden has insisted he is "not worried" at the prospect of the Premier League taking legal action against the party over its new logo.
Party members decided on the emblem, which features a purple lion beside the message 'Ukip - For The Nation', at their conference in Torquay.
But it was immediately pointed out that the logo is very similar to the Premier League's own badge, which also features a purple lion.
According to The Sun, the league is consulting its lawyers over possible copyright infringement.
But Ukip chairman Paul Oakden told the BBC's Daily Politics: "I'm not worried. For a start, I don't mind Ukip being associated with the Premier League - they're a multi-billion pound organisation that everybody in this country is behind.
"If they feel they have the right to take legal action I'm sure they'll consult with their lawyers. We did our due diligence before we put these logos to the membership and we are perfectly comfortable with them."
The row threatened to overshadow the election of Ukip's new leader later this afternoon.
London Assembly member Peter Whittle is up against anti-Islam campaigner Anne Marie Waters in the contest to be the party's fourth leader in just over a year.
