Following the release of Action on Smoking and Healths (ASH) report Smoking Still Kills, a publication the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has endorsed, Ian Gray, Principal Policy Officer for the CIEH, said:

“Tobacco companies continue to make enormous profits whilst our public services are left to deal with the social and health costs of the use of their products at great cost to the national and local economy. An annual levy is entirely in-line with our view that the polluter should pay.”
