CMI CEO responds to the Chancellor's announcement

As long as it's well-executed it will offer a much needed boost to battered British business as we head towards a difficult winter darkened by the continuing pandemic as well as the threat of a no-deal Brexit.

Ann Francke OBE, CEO of the CMI, said:

"This comprehensive plan to preserve viable jobs is realistic, pragmatic and builds on proven successful elements of UK schemes as well as those implemented elsewhere in economies less hard hit by Covid.

"It offers welcome, consistent, and comprehensive  relief to businesses dogged by falling demand and constantly shifting policies.
